The Hague and the North Sea

Welcome to the world-famous Hague, known as the legal capital of the world. Which, however, is not surprising, because this Dutch city is where the International Court of Justice, the Intercity Criminal Court and the Palace of Peace are located.

The Hague is also where the King of the Netherlands lives, and the local government is based. On top of that, the city is also known as the favorite place for European diplomats and aristocrats.

The ancient architecture of The Hague is carefully guarded by the government; the modern buildings are built so that they don’t disrupt the overall appearance of the city with its cute low-rise houses. The Hague is fascinating for its narrow streets, clean canals, historical monuments and numerous parks. The number of park in the city is over 30.

When you arrive into the city, be sure to check out the luxurious residence of the Dutch King Willem Alexander and the Peace Palace. And the Binnenhov parliamentary complex will amaze you with its grandeur and Gothic splendor.

Be sure to also visit the famous museum of painting, Mauritshuis. According to the connoisseurs of art, Mauritshuis is the most important art gallery in Holland.

And of course, you will receive unforgettable pleasure from visiting the Madurodam miniature park. This park is a typical Dutch town, only significantly minimized in size. In Madurodam, you will see a real world re-created in a miniature: railways with trains running along them, tiny pedestrians and animals scurrying along toy streets and parks. Here, the most famous and beautiful buildings of Holland, or you could even say, Holland in miniature, is recreated.

There is also the famous resort Scheveningen, which used to be an ordinary fishing village. Today it is a chic European high-class resort, often called the Northern Riviera. Scheveningen is famous for its well-groomed sandy beaches and ideal conditions for surfing, which attracts aristocratic and prosperous public from all around the world. Walk along the main boulevard of the resort, sit in a cozy restaurant on the waterfront and taste the delicious Dutch herring right on the shore of the North Sea.

For sure, this Dutch city will impress you greatly, and you will want to come back here more than once again!
