Antwerp

Antwerp is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Belgium. The largest port of Europe and the city of masters – jewelers, artists and sculptors. Peter Paul Rubens, Anton Van Dijk, Bruegel Velhatny and many others lived here.

In Antwerp, along with luxurious baroque palaces, exquisite Gothic churches and monasteries, beautiful green parks, a unique zoo, interesting and entertaining museums, there is also the ultimately magnificent cuisine.

Flemish cuisine is known for its excellent meat and fish meals, its unrivaled cakes and sweets, its culinary trump – the famous Flemish rabbit, a rabbit stewed in beer. The experts consider Belgian beer the best in the world: both in quality and in variety of sorts (more than 400).

The city is famous for its hospitality, festivity of its life, its cozy, modern and old restaurants and cafes, its rare bell concerts taking place in the central squares of Antwerp from the middle of June to the middle of September.

During the sightseeing tour you will see the ancient castle, the heart of Antwerp – its Market Square the Grote Markt and the main cathedral, the Cathedral of Our Lady with the famous paintings by Rubens. You’ll visit the Green Square, the Concourse square, its medieval passages and corners, its pompous street Meir with luxurious mansions, the main trade nerve of the city.

You will see the Rubens House – a palazzo in which the great artist spent the brightestperiod ofhis life.
